The Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä is moving during 2021 to new premises at Ahertajankuja 3. At the same time the museum will be comprehensively remodeled. The new Toy Museum, a wonderland of play and toys, will be opened approximately in the spring of 2022.

The Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä and the Finnish Museum of Horology will get a long awaited expansion for their exhibitions and services at the new REC Kulttuuriloisto next door to WeeGee. The building is planned by SARC Architects. In the new premises the Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä will open a wholly remodeled museum, a wonderland of play and toys. The remodeling work is sponsored by The Finnish Cultural Foundation via Museum Vision funding. The new Toy Museum aims to defend the play of people of all ages, to transmit a variety of information about childhood in different times and to provide the visitors with comprehensive and accessible experiences. Kulttuuriloisto gives the Toy Museum a great framework to achieve our goals in a larger and more functional space near our WeeGee partners.

The collaboration between and contents of the two specialized museums make the new location a fascinating meeting place. With the construction of a new culture space in the vicinity of the Exhibition Centre WeeGee, the attractiveness of Tapiola as a cultural center and a travel destination for people from Espoo and farther away will increase yet further.
