Old school lolita draws influences from lolita fashion before 2006. Unlike most modern lolita styles, old school lolita rarely utilizes prints. Outfits usually consist of only two colors, with black often being one of them. Instead of prints, the focus is on the structure of the garment and its lace. Wigs are not as commonly used in old school lolita as in other forms of lolita, and the makeup is relatively light-handed. The silhouette of old school lolita, with its fitted bodice and A-line skirt, is very similar to that of other lolita styles.
“This hasn’t always been old. This style was new school when I started. Or actually, it was the only “school.” This is the style that captured my heart in 2004.”
