It has given me a lot of joy. Even though it’s fanfiction, some of these characters have become really dear to me and I can’t imagine my life without them. (b. 1989)

I got acquainted with popular series (such as Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin and Fullmetal Alchemist) when I was about 10 years old through TV and manga volumes found in stores. When I was a little older, I started searching for and creating fan art of my favorite series. (b. 1996)

I used to draw familiar characters from comics and TV shows when I was little – probably familiar to many other drawing enthusiasts! But after elementary school, I hit a crisis. I drew human figures terribly poorly. (-) Well, the situation changed when manga came into the picture in junior high, and I started modeling people with the teachings of Rumiko Takahashi and Hiromu Arakawa. It was quite mind-blowing to move from drawing people resembling potato sacks to something that… Well, was really cool according to my friends and myself! Anyway, manga inspired me to continue drawing at a time when I was otherwise quite discouraged with it. I rediscovered joy in drawing for myself through a new approach and style. (b. 1992)

In the fall of 2022, I realized that one of my dreams had already come true: I’ve been able to produce culture events that I really enjoy, specifically through conventions. Even though the mainstream media or those outside the hobby don’t always appreciate or see the value that conventions bring to young people, I’m proud of the volunteer work I’ve done and the experience I’ve gained from it. (b. 1992)

At first, I watched anime alone for years. I became more interested in Japanese culture, society, Japanese movies, and history, which laid the groundwork for analyzing the works. Later on, I found my way into the circles of Desucon, where I found like-minded hobbyists with whom to share thoughts, which eventually led to giving lectures at conventions. (b. 1991)
