On the last weekend of January, Leikki will celebrate true toy classics: building blocks. Both big and small builders will have the chance to create various structures from light blocks, soft blocks, wooden blocks, Lego, and Plus-plus blocks. The program also includes playful competitions and block dancing! The event is bilingual: in Finnish and English.
The Block Hunt Non-stop from 10 AM to 5 PM, self-guided
Can you find the block toys displayed in the Museum of Play’s exhibition? Join the block hunt, find the block toys, and enter a raffle to win children’s annual passes.
Block Construction Workshop 10 AM to 12:30 PM
At the Block Construction Workshop, builders of all ages can create fun structures using Plus-Plus blocks, either following instructions or by using their imagination. The workshop offers two sizes of blocks, with larger ones suitable for younger children and smaller ones for builders over 5 years old.
Block Heaven 10 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 5 PM
Builders of all ages are welcome to play with the delightful soft blocks and light blocks.
Block Tower Challenge 11 AM and 12 PM
Join the Plus-Plus block tower challenge, where participants build towers out of blocks. The tallest towers will be awarded!
The Block Dance 1 PM to 1:30 PM
In the Block Dance, we’ll groove to block music and practice legendary dance moves from the band Fröbelin Palikat.
Lego Construction Workshop 1 PM to 3 PM
Now it’s time to build! Join the Lego construction workshop at Leikki, where the only limit is your imagination. There are Lego bricks for builders over 5 years old, and Duplo blocks for younger builders.
Lego Trivia Quiz 2 PM
With knowledge or luck! Take part in the Lego trivia quiz and test how much you know about Lego.
Lego Building Contest 3 PM and 4 PM
Are you a Lego Master? Whether you answered yes or no, you can participate in our playful Lego building contests. You can join alone or with a partner. Only a limited number of teams can participate. The contests will take place at 3 PM and 4 PM.
